A Funeral, A Film and a Frock

:candle: This morning we rose at 6am to attend the Prince’s Aunt’s funeral. It was of course, far from a cheerful event, but I found the service was rather nice and the whole day carefully and considerately planned.

The Requiem Mass was at a lovely gothic church, of cream stone, white marble and stained glass. The vases were filled with Irises and the Pastor was very gentle and well spoken. I’ve never been to a Catholic Mass before, and sitting in the pews awaiting the service I must admit my thoughts wandered to the chapel of Versailles, and the elegant court gathered there each sunday. My attention was caught by the lovely statue of Mary, her little enclave was so filled with a sense of peace, even one of a different faith could appreciate it. I wish the family of the deceased every blessing.

The funeral did not end until after midday, and then the Prince and I went for a light lunch and saw to getting his spectacles repaired. In the afternoon I tidied my chambers a little and watched The Great Race, an amusing classic film I haven’t seen for sometime.

I keep telling myself I must stop spending on my wardrobe and start saving, but Isobe-san is a devil and always finds some way to tempt me from my good intentions! :bow: It appears BABY will be re-releasing the Hawase Doll OP! As worn by Momoko in Shimotsuma Monogatari. The pink is just adorable, though admittedly it may be too light for the coming winter, still I am tempted. Now if only I could find her lace parasol!

I hope the Prince is faring well. I too, lost a relative and attended his funeral last week, so I very much understand.
The Hawase Doll OP is in stock now! I suppose, if you were really in love with it, you could buy it and keep it for summer, or maybe wear a blouse and a thermal top underneath? I am probably not being helpful trying to justify you buying it. XD It certainly does suck being on the other hemisphere!

Hello there!

I stumbled across your site from a link on EGL, and I must say, I’m impressed with your site overall! The layout design is perfect, and the pages are all organised and well-made, not just thrown together like most sites. ((My site may have some unusual designs at points, but I always make sure everything’s perfectly organised.))

Also, I love your personality! I thought you were a ‘Real’ and titled Princess for a moment! I wish I could have such grace as that, I often refer to myself as a Punk Rock Princess, but that’s just now the same, now is it? xD

And I love all of your beautiful outfits … ^_^ I’m building one lolita outfit myself, but it’s going to be in the Gothic Lolita style. It’s so fun finding all the items! ((Since this is my first outfit, I don’t have any brand items, so I have to look high and low for every piece.))

But anyway, it’s rude to not comment on the blog one is commenting on; So onward to the comment. ^^;

I’ve actually never been to a proper funeral before … They’re so sad and beautiful at the same time. I’d say I’d like to attend one, but that’s a pretty demented thing to think, I reckon. x_x’

And I have yet to see Kamikaze Girls/Shimotsuma Monogatari! I should try and buy it online … I wonder if it’s for sale on Amazon? Hmm …

Well, this has been a long enough comment, and I’m sure I’m boring Her Highness. ^_~

See you later! +Bookmarks.+
