Gingerbread Cookies

Gingerbread Heart Today I enjoyed a brief respite in amidst a hectic week. While I probably should have been running errands and ticking a few more things off my “to do” list, I instead decided to treat myself to a day at home with Miss Charlotte :hearttwo:

In the morning we baked delicious gingerbread bicuits! They are spicy and soft and shaped like hearts, flowers and stars. Gingerbread is my favourite kind of biscuit and Miss Charlotte quite likes them too, I had three with my hot chocolate in the afternoon as I read “Night Dance” which is a retelling of “The Twelve Dancing Princesses” with a dash of Arthurian Legend thrown in :book: It was an enjoyable enough read, but far from excellent. I shall, however, start “Queen of Fashion, What Marie Antoinette wore to the Revolution” tomorrow as I finally got a copy through the library system.

This afternoon my cute little cake hair tie arrived! I love it :cake: I also borrowed a couple of movies and this evening watched “The Thief Lord” which was a charming little story about a group of orphans in Venice and a Carousel that could make Adults into children and Children in to adults. The concept intrigued me, although I am personally of the opinion that, while we must someday grow old, growing up is entirely optional.

Those cookies do look quite tasty. I just baked a cake today myself…
Glad to hear you managed to get some time to yourself. I read Queen of Fashion a few months ago, it’s quite interesting. Also, I thought you might like to take a look at this. http://cgi.ebay.com/Victorian-Lolita-Prince-Baby-Dolly-Promenade-Dress-Chok_W0QQitemZ190106085682QQihZ009QQcategoryZ63861QQcmdZViewItem

A lovely photo of You holding a gingerbread heart in Your hand, Proncess. And the other photos with Miss Charlotte keeping an eye on the results of Your baking efforts is totally charming also.

How true Your last sentence is, Princess. As I attended boys’ school, I always felt in awe of those perfect little Princesses from the neighbouring girls’ school, they were always perfectly turned out in their pretty, pristine uniforms and they seemed so much more dignified than us rumbustious and grimy little scruffs. I choose to maintain those feelings of awe and respect for Princesses still, and I always shall. You and other Princesses will always be admired and cherished by me. I hope that You do not consider that wrong, Princess.

The Thief Lord was made into a movie?
    I hadn’t even heard!
    That’s so odd…
I’m going to go look for it now.

Abbie-chan They were scrumptious! Not quite as good as the ones you baked me though ^_~
Olivia Thank you for the link! Its a gorgeous dress. I bet your cake was delicious!
Nigel I’m sure any Princess would be charmed by your respect and admiration.
Yuri Perhaps I should read the book then, to compare the two. I did find the movie enjoyable though, I thought the actor chosen for the Thief Lord himself was excellent.
Vossa You should! I hope you enjoy it as I did ^^
