Friends and a Field of Flowers
This morning I got up early to prepare for tea. My friend Claire was coming over and this was the first time we would meet her so I wanted it to be special! I laid out the table with cloth and lace, put a bunch of beautiful ranunculi I had bought earlier this week in the middle and arranged the various tea items. I was half way through kneading the scone dough when Claire arrived, looking lovely in her white BABY one piece.
We had tea (lady grey) and scones with jam and clotted cream, lemon tartlets and mud chocolate rose shaped cakes made by Mirai. The food was delicious and the company delightful.
After tea we decided to go take photos. A field near our house has recently come in to bloom and is full of pink and white everlastings! Their thousands of petals feel like paper and brushing through the tall stems transported us to the countryside.
Mirai took some great photos of us which will appear in the gallery shortly. For now here is a little teaser.
Thank you very much to Claire for joining us today, I had a lot of fun and am looking forward to seeing you again soon!
