A Poem and a Proposition
I have two new things to share today. The first is a new idea.
Princess Days are days I take every now and then, days devoted to enjoying yourself and having a little bit of luxury and pampering, just for a day, to treat your inner Princess with some royal attention.
So I was thinking, really we all deserve to have a day like this once in a while, but sometimes we forget or we are too busy worrying about other events to set aside time for such indulgence. Maybe what we need is an official Princess Day!
One day a year where Princesses all over the world can celebrate their royal nature.
If you like this idea, please help me pick a day! I think it would be good to have it not too close to christmas or any other big holiday so we really have time to enjoy it.
The second thing is a poem from Princess Desi, inspired by the Princess Code. I really enjoyed reading this, its so sweet and true, please click the link below to read Desi’s poem.
No matter what it may seem
Whether we wear pretty pink ruffles,
or dirty worn jeans
Our dreams will never fade
nor our joy that we keep
We are always beautiful
even when we sleep
So hold on to these dear, as if they are the key
Beauty, Joy, and Innocence
as well as Purity.
We are all princesses
No matter what it may seem
And go wander into our kingdom
where we will forever be
Princess Desi

That sounds like a lovely idea! I think May 4rth would be a nice day to pick. Here, it is in early summer time, when the buds are still out but it’s not raining much anymore. It also happens to be my mother’s birthday!

May is Winter here ^^;
Hmm.. I’m tempted to say late September, but that’s when my birthday is. I wouldn’t consider that a big event, and if anything it’s more of a reason to indulge royally, so hmm. Maybe~

Great idea!!
I would say Spring/Autumn.. I mean Spring in one side of the world and autumn in the other. In a month when spring is not too hot or rainy, and autumn is not so cold..
And congratulations to Princess Desi, it was a really nice poem..^^

That is a wonderful idea!!
Late summer or late spring, maybe?

:) I plan to have a lolita/victorian themed birthday party with a small selection of friends at a hotel room, in our fair kingdom of Perth. I’d be delighted if you could come.

May always seems like a royal month. New flowers are blooming, sun is shining. However, there is always a chance of rain! :)

Sometime when there aren’t any final or midterms is an excellent idea… so not right before Christmas, right before school lets out in May, and not two months before those dates either… -_-;; Maybe February is a nice month, especially for princesses without princes?

I think that’s a great idea too! I tend to do this after bad breakups and such when I need to pamper myself. I think sometime in May would be good. Spring is such a nice time and it’s after major holiday season.

Sometime in March would be lovely… We can’t really predetermine if it’s going to be rainy or not. But that would be half of the fun! n_n March 13-20 one of those days!
The prospect of an official Princess Day is quite exciting!

Ooh, yes, Anousenka agrees about May, also! May 6th happens to be *her* Birthday, heehee ^_^ Any time in the Spring, Anousenka thinks, would be perfect ♥

May sounds lovely! I always love May and Springtime is always wonderful with all the blooming frlowers!

I agree with the two ladies above. Either April or May are such beautiful months on both sides of the globe. I think it would be lovely to have a global princess day. Say like April 15th [just throwing a random date] Or of the sort. Spring always reminds me of flowers, and you know Princesses love flowers ♥

I agree with most of the Princesses. Our Royal Princess Day should be on a date that is supposedly equally pretty on both hemispheres. I’m certainly looking forward to Our Royal Princess Day, even if I don’t get to go celebrate with other Princesses.
Lovely poem, Princess Desi.

Don’t worry Princess Norah…I’m Italian and my english is terrible and this is the first time I leave a comment here, but I think no one will eat you! :) I agree with you…maybe first we must choose the season, but I think that a big part of us has choosen spring even if in another part of the world is autumn…but these are always middle season (I’m sorry if it’s not the right way to say that) and so it’s not too cold and not too hot. about the day I don’t know what is better, I’ll think about that during this week. :)

I’m agree with all of you, mostly with Haley ^^

Why not connect it to a true princess? Perhaps a princess’s birthday.

Thank you for all the suggestions! I think we’ll go for a day in april, as May is closer to winter here and April seems to be a nice month for most of the world.
Princess Manda, I was thinking the same thing! I wanted to have it on Marie Antionette’s Birthday, but that’s in november. Maybe you can help me find a Princess born in April?
Thank you all for your comments! I’m really excited about this idea now!

Official princess day sounds very good. But in my country april is usually a bit rainy and mostly muddy so I suggest May.

Her are some suggestions for Princess Day:
Eugenie de Montijo’s birthday was on the 5th May…
Do you think that would be a good day to celebrate International Princess Day??
If you would rather celebrate something to day with Marie Antoinette, then you could celebrate Princess Day on the 19th April, when she married Louis and ultimately became a princess.
By the way, i loved Princess Desi’s poem.
It’s really beautiful
Yours Royally,
Princess Louisa xox
