It rained all morning today. The roads ran like rivers and I watched the snails crawl across my window leaving silvery trails. When it finally stopped, I went outside. The world is so beautiful after it rains, the air is fresh and sweet with a little moisture still in it. As the sun comes out and lights up each little droplet on leaf and branch, every tree and blade of grass sparkles as if draped in jewels. The most beautiful thing is a spiderweb, strung with raindrops like transparent pearls.
The sunlight seems warmer too, I let it kiss my cheek and marvel at the sky, having shed its grey cloak to reveal a brilliant blue gown, scattered with the tattered remains of clouds. Barefooted, I jump in a puddle all the same, splashing the hem of my dress. My mood seems to lift with the weather, and I wish I had a pair of yellow wellington boots so I could puddle jump some more.
I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string. - Anne of Avonlea

I totally agree! The world is so beautiful after the rain. And I love the quote from Anne of Avonlea!

Rainy days are like special gifts. A change of pace from the norm. I love to wear my red plaid boots when it rains because then I do not fear for my feet getting wet as I puddle jump compulsively. If I see a puddle I will jump in it.
Beautiful my dear! :D Extra points for the Anne of Avonlea quote. I adore those books. :D

I agree, those few hours after it has rained is a beauty few can understand; The sweet, damp smell of the air,the slight warm sun mixed with the chilling breeze dancing through the air. And how everything looks so beautiful when kissed with a drop of rain. Glad to hear someone else appreciates this small gift!

Oh no! I wrote a much bigger comment than that but only the first paragraph came up in the posted comment. :(
I was saying that I love how elegantly you capture your visual joys. ^_^ My favourite part was when you talked about the sun kissing your cheek- that is just exactly what it feels like! What a pretty way to describe that warm feeling. :)
And looking at your photo, those gorgeous baby raindrops really do look like strings of pearls… Maybe the spiders will decide to wear them as necklaces some day! *giggles*
I apologise for the double comments!
