Link Carousel - Books
It’s no secret that I like to read, some of my favourite places in the world are bookstores and libraries, the smell of paper and ink is enchanting. Indeed books hold a magical fascination to me, the ability to pass on knowledge from years or centuries past, to transport us to other worlds, other lives. I’m usually reading more than one book at a time, which is a bad habit. I read on the bus, on the train, before bed, in waiting rooms and even in the bath! (another bad habit.) Here are a few of my favourite links for bibliophiles.
Good Reads
I just found out about this site today and I am in love with the idea! Good Reads allows you to create a virtual bookshelf of everything you read, including reviews and a personal rating. They have a huge database that allows you to look up your favourite authors and series and you can add books to different ’shelves’ based on their genre. I’ve just started adding books to mine, but I’m definitely going to keep up with it from now on, because I often forget what I’ve read and when. You can see my profile here, please add me as a friend!
Project Gutenberg
Probably one of the largest and better organized online libraries. Here you will find a huge collection of texts and books that have been uploaded for public use (and enjoyment!) Its especially great for finding older texts that are no longer under copyright and rare and hard to find books. Sometimes I enjoy just browsing through to see what I discover!
The Invisible Library
I really wanted to link you to this site, which I remember enjoying a few years ago. Unfortunately by some strange irony, the ‘Invisible Library’ is now completely invisible, it seems to have dissapeared altogether! However, lucky for us, a few clever people have made their own records of the library, the first is the link above and the second can be found here. The Invisible Library is a collection of books which do not exist, they are books that are mentioned in other books. Makes for fascinating browsing, if only we could open the pages of some of these books for real!
What should I read next?
This is a fun little tool that helps you find new books you might like. Just type in the title and author of your favourite book and generate a list of those other’s would reccomend to you! I found my reccomendations quite interesting too. I believe by creating an account you can get more specialised reccomendations, but its fun to play with aswell.
What are you reading right now?

I’m reading Cokie Roberts’ Founding Mothers: The Women Who Raised Our Nation.
I usually don’t like American history, but this side of it is interesting.

Why is reading in the bath a bad habit? :o
I’m reading Perfume: a story of a murderer by Patrick Suskind at the moment, but also a couple of others, too.

I absolutely adore the smell of books as well! I buy more books, than i do clothes!.
I’m reading what Rain is reading as well. Such an interesting book! Very faithful to the movie, and the innocent, childish narration throws you off because, once again, this is a murderer, we are talking about.
I recently finished re-reading Tuck everlasting. Such a cute little story. A one-sit read. The movie is very different, but equally as entertaining,I have to admit I like the movie best.. mostly because It’s easier to identify with a 15 year old, rather than a 10 year old (-is currently 18-).

A friend invited me to Good Reads just before we both got addicted to Poupee, so I haven’t done much with my list, but I’m trying to turn off the computer earlier at night to give myself more time to read before bed, so hopefully I will have some additions soon.

^_^ I adore the smell of books as well.
I’m currently reading many books (( I too have that issue)) including Little Women, Anne of Avonlea, Inkheart, a title-less book of English and American Poems, and ((my favorite)) A Little Princess.

Oh, it’s always so refreshing to find out that there still are people who enjoy reading and love books as much as I do. ♥ I’m currently re-reading Montgomery’s Anne-series (boohoo, I’m already on Rilla of Igleside). After I have finished my current book, I think I’ll finally finish Kostova’s The Historian. I started it ages ago but since I have only read it while I have been ill, I haven’t really gotten anywhere with it yet.

Well, actually, I just finished reading some of the fairy tales you posted for April’s Princess Challenge. ^^
Thanks so much for these links. I’m very tempted to join Good Reads, and What Should I Read Next? should be very useful for me, since I’m out of ideas of what to check out of the library now. It’s seems pretty accurate so far - I entered the name of my favorite book, and got my second favorite as a suggestion!

I started Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice, however I have exams soon, so I stopped reading. I joined Good Reads too. I’ll add you.

Thank you very much for those links! ^^ I think this is my favorite Link Carousel so far. I love reading and I adore books. I miss by books so much (most of them are in France)… I signed up on Good Reads and added you as a friend. I’ve started to record my books already. It was a little bit of fun in my not-so-good day. :)
Right now I’m reading a french book called “La méchanique du coeur” and I started the Iliad. I’m in the middle of several other books but those are the ones I’ve read most recently.
