July Princess Challenge

Parfait design by BABY the stars shine brightWell, I had a lot of fun with the June Princess challenge, I hope yours went well too! If you took some pictures or wrote a diary entry about your experience and would like me to link it from the Princess Challenge page, just send me an email! We’ve had Princesses trying all sorts of new things this month, from visiting beautiful gardens to taking guitar lessons, bike riding, DDR and even a Triathalon! I’m so impressed with everyone’s efforts, stepping outside the box and trying something new can be really rewarding.

If you missed out last month don’t worry because I think the next challenge is going to be a lot of fun, and it involves trying something new aswell!

July 2008 Princess Challenge
(if this is your first challenge, please read the original post here)

This month we’re having a cooking challenge! The cold weather here has got me in to a baking mood, but even if its summer for you, it will still be fun to try out a new recipe! Whether its a stew or soup or salad, cookies or cake or chocolates, try cooking something you love but have never tried making from scratch before. Food is one of those small pleasures in life that we often take for granted, but it can be a beautiful art in itself and also a great comfort when a lot of love is put in to the preparation. You might like to share your results with friends or family, or even have a little picnic to celebrate your success! I look forward to reading about your cooking adventures and hopefully we can post everyone’s recipes up at the end of the month and make a little Princess cookbook!

Aha! Perfect. I’ve been meaning to make a cake and some cupcakes. I’m thinking strawberry shortcake.. yum.

I should just learn to cook in general though XD

Great! I have to bake a cake for this sunday anyway because relatives are coming over… it’ll be tough to find a good recipe since our visitors are allergic against milk products ):

Oh, this sounds like a fantastic opportunity to try something completely new…as I haven’t baked or cooked in a long, long time. :3
I’m vegetarian and the rest of my family is not, so perhaps I’ll cook a vegetarian meal one evening for everyone? Hm, food for thought, literally!

Ah! I love this one! It’s a perfect opportunity to cook my family’s special recipes, which are almost all sweets. My mother is excited to teach me her special Lemon Cake!

Hmmm, maybe I’ll try making real sushi! :D All of my friends and I love that kind of food to bits.

btw, I adore the image you chose for this post. A BabySSB fabric print, I assume? ^^ *Sigh* I wish they sold fabric by the yard… ;_;

It’s waaaaay too hot to bake over here. But I’ve been eyeing a recipe for Cuban style corn on the cob for a few days. Maybe I’ll learn how to make some other stuff too, but that will be my main goal.

I relish the challenges! :D

I don’t know if I’m going to be able to pull this off. College has (literally) eaten my life; I barely have time to check my emails, let alone cook a special dish. But I will try, and hopefully I will have a chance to whip something up, even if it’s relatively simple. ^^

Oh I did it! Should I mail you the recipe? With a picture of course!
