My Glass Slippers

Glass Slippers

I am so excited, tomorrow night is the annual Ball for the Perth Anime Convention (Wai-con) and I’m looking forward to it even more because it was organized by my talented friend Mirai and I have been hearing about the menu and decorations and venue for months now! The outfit I’m wearing is a secret, however yesterday I went shopping and found the perfect ball shoes, they’re Glass Slippers! Actually, they’re made from clear vinyl with big silver bows, but I fell in love with them at once and thought it would be really special to wear Cinderella’s trademark mules to the ball. Aren’t they gorgeous?

Perth City Christmas Decorations

Yesterday was a rather big day out for me. I had several shopping missions besides finding these shoes and met up with some friends for lunch and afternoon tea. I picked up the second light novel of Good Witch of the West and bought a big floppy white hat, similar to Sanyu’s which I was enamoured of on our zoo trip. It should come in handy as the sun gets a lot hotter at this time of year.

Oreo flavoured Shaved Ice

The weather was really stunning for most of the day, with Perth’s brilliant blue skies. I got to watch a street performance and look up at all the christmas decorations as I was shopping. This year they wrapped one of the bridges up in a big red bow! We had japanese for lunch and for dessert shared a giant bowl of Oreo flavoured shaved ice between three of us! If you’ve never had shaved ice, its definitely worth a try. Much lighter and fluffier than ice cream, its like eating new fallen snow.

In the early evening I went with Steph to see the Take Me Home exhibition at Keith and Lottie, it featured the adorable character art of Lisa Max and Jessica McLeod including some adorable plushies, I wanted to take them all home!

It was one of the best shopping excursions I’ve had in a long time, and getting to catch up with my friends made the day that much sweeter. I can’t wait to see them all again at the Ball tomorrow, one more sleep!

I think a lot of cities have balls, though they’re not always advertised well. Sometimes they are held as fundraisers for charities as well which is nice, maybe you can find one near you to attend?

Mostly we won’t have snow until febrary. (when evreyone already have given up the thought of snow and long for the spring instead) ^^’

I like your slipper btw =) And I have never head of shaved ice. I guess they have not invented it here yet ^^

I used to have shaved ice all the time when I was little, but they were always in fruit flavors. The idea of an oreo-flavored shaved ice sounds very strange, but yummy!

The shaved ice places here do lots of different flavours, including fruit, chocolate and nuts! They are really nice and perfect for warmer days.

Those are beautiful shoes! May I ask where one could purchase them (or similar ones) online? (I can’t quite make out the brand name on the sole).

P.S. I really enjoy your blog and read it regularly! Your (more) recent posts on social interaction and the mirror were particulary insightful and helpful for me!
