Petit Miel Update ~ Cherry Polka Headbow

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

One off - Cherry Polka HairbowI’m very excited to have just listed my first One-off design for Petit Miel! :cherry: This Cherry Polka Headbow is made from cute red polka dot grosgrain ribbon and decorated with pearls and cotton lace. It was nice to be able to spend a little more time on this one, adding details such as little pearl beads sewn to the bow shaped lace. As with all the One-Off pieces I will be making, this design will not be repeated which makes it a bit more special I think :heartsmall:

I have been sketching up some more designs for items, including some small rings and bow barettes. However I would love to know what you would like to see in the Petit Miel boutique! Different colours? More jewelry or hair accessories? Something with flowers or jewels or sweets designs? Please post your suggestions and requests! I would love to create your dream accessories

Petit Miel ~ Bon Bon Barettes

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Bon Bon BarettesI was very busy at the Petit Miel atelier today! After a quick excursion this morning to have my hair trimmed and pick up some fresh fruit :cherry: from the market I came home and sat down to work.

There are two pairs of my Bon Bon Barettes available now  one in Blue Gingham and one in Pink Polkadot. These look really cute with lolita and princess style outfits especially if you put your hair in pig tails or braids. The clips are push-to-open style which I find stays in my hair really well and doesn’t tend to fall out like slides. I hope you will like these new additions!

I’ve also nearly finished a pretty bow headdress which will be appearing in the shop shortly, its a one-off piece so its something a bit special for Petit Miel. I would like to start making more unique items in the future, as it gives me more time to put extra details in and create something that is truly one-of-a-kind :heartsmall:

Petit Miel Updates

Strawberry Shortcake Phone Charm As promised there are some cute new items over at Petit Miel this time I have four strawberry shortcake phone charms :strawberry: with pearls and bows. There will be some pretty hair accessories coming later this week!

I have also updated the shipping prices on all items, after finding a more helpful postal worker and finding out I can ship items under 2cm width as ‘letters’ for a far more reasonable price! :sparkle: Unfortunately the strawberries don’t fit this category but I reduced the packaging to bring the price down a little. All items are shipped in a sealed, bubble wrap lined parcel envelope.

I would also like to introduce a reward system. Now when purchasing from Petit Miel you can earn ‘Honey Points’ :bee: for every dollar you spend at Petit Miel you recieve 1 Honey Point, Honey Points will earn you free gifts with you orders when you reach a certain amount. All points are recorded in a database next to your etsy username and can not be used by any other account. I hope you will enjoy these little rewards as a thank you for supporting my store!

Also I would like to introduce a new item, the Pearl Chandelier Bracelets are made of gorgeous glass pearls with brass accent beads and pretty little teardrops in pink or blue. They are the most detailed bracelets I’ve made yet and I was very tempted to keep one for myself. There are only five so get in fast!

Please keep your eyes out for more releases in the next two weeks, I have some phone charms and a beautiful headdress nearly ready for sale. Thank you for your patience and support of Petit Miel! :hearttwo:

Petit Miel Store

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

Petit MielI have been very busily baking away at the Petit Miel Pâtisserie here, and I am happy to announce that the first few items will be ready for sale by next weekend! :hearttwo: In preparation for this I have set up an Etsy store through which to sell these little accessories and items. There is nothing for sale yet, but you can visit the store here:

Petit Miel on Etsy.com

I am in the process of organizing shipping and packaging so as to be more efficient when it is open. I will be shipping internationally and will try to keep postage costs as low as possible. :cake: Thank you to everyone who has helped, supported and inspired me with Petit Miel so far! I really appreciate your interest in my little shop. :heartsmall:

Petit Miel Pâtisserie

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

Petit Miel Patisserie I am really enjoying this slightly cooler change to the weather. This morning I went in to the city and had coffee with a friend, well I had a nice big hot chocolate with marshmallows because I don’t drink coffee :coffee: I was looking up at some of the beautiful old buildings that are no longer used and thinking what a pity it is. In the city here, there are shops on the ground floor of most of the buildings but the old facades are still above and most of the upper floors are empty. I’ve actually been up in to one of the abandoned hotels and it was quite spooky, but beautiful in a derelict kind of way. :camera: I would love to take photos there.

This afternoon Skwerlie and Leah came over to work on crafts. They made some pretty jewelry, Leah had an adorable little bracelet with glass hearts and was making matching earrings and Skwerlie made a beautiful blue and white pearl necklace with a bow, they are so talented! :cake: I just baked away at the Petit Miel pâtisserie, making biscuits and cream and strawberries ready to go on some accessories for my store. I am still organising packaging and I need to get some fastenings, but I hope to be able to start selling things very soon! :sparkle:

Petit Miel Debut Stall

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

waicon07day1-002Today was the debut of my new label “Petit Miel” at the convention. I was a bit nervous setting everything up and worrying if it would sell. I brought a piece of red velvet to display things on and printed out some little tags, heart shaped for the larger items and rectangular for the small ones. :cake: Later Clara moved the Cake Hat on to a litle cake platter she had brought along and it looked adorable!

So far the items have sold quite well, there are still a couple of headresses and bracelets left but I am pleased at how the stall did. Big thanks to Clara and Elizna for letting me share their stall and looking after it all day, I would not have been able to do this without their help.

Before I left today I saw a girl wearing a pair of my Bon Bon Barettes and it made me smile :hearttwo:

Heart Ribbon Hairbows

Friday, December 14th, 2007

hairbows I’ve have been a very busy Princess for the last few days, locked up in the Petit Miel Atelier, sewing tiny pearl beads to everything with nothing to eat but vanilla icecream :icecream: Here you can see some more results of my labour, two pairs of fabric and ribbon hair bows with pearl tips. I think there will only ever be two pairs of these because they are a pain to make! Consider them a limited edition :sparkle:

Only one sleep until the convention! :moon: I have to get up early and dress and do my hair and then hurry off to set up the stall, hand out fliers to the que, run the Japanese Fashion panel with Skwerlie and then help Eugene out at the cosplay registration desk. Its going to be a full weekend! You probably won’t hear from me until it is over, but expect lots of photos! :camera:

Introducing ~ Petit Miel

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

cakehat4I am really excited to announce the debut of my new label, Petit Miel :hearttwo: This coming weekend at Wai-con I will be selling the first series of accessories, inspired by deserts and candy - this is my most special creation, a Strawberry Delicious Cake Headdress. I spent most of today completing it. It is made from white felt with pink felt ‘icing’ all shiny with pearl beads, pink and white cotton lace, satin ribbon and three strawberries in cream on top :strawberry: There are some more photos here, as well as images of the other items I have made so far.

Only a few days to the convention, I can’t wait! Whatever does not sell there I will be putting up for sale on Etsy later so keep an eye out for them. After Christmas I hope to continue making new pieces and get the online store up and running! Please look forward to more sweet treats from Petit Miel :bee:

Little Biscuit Rings

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

cakerings2 I had a little adventure today. Unfortunately where I live is very far from any craft stores, and usually I am only able to go and buy supplies when I get a lift with a friend (not usually a problem because most of my friends sew more than I) however there is only a week :clock: until the convention and I realised if I wanted to have enough things to sell I better buy some more supplies!

So, I caught the train. I very rarely catch the train, its a bit of a novelty for me :train: I had to walk about 15 minutes to the station, it was a beautiful day so I didn’t mind very much. Then I caught the train to the station closest to where I needed to go, and from there the bus to the craft store. I think I probably could have walked that distance but I wasn’t sure how long it would take. I was reading Shimotsuma Monogatari (Kamikaze Girls) on the bus and felt just like Momoko, catching the train all the way to Daikanyama to visit the BABY the stars shine bright boutique :star:

I bought some felt, pearls, ribbon, lace and findings and sat up for a while tonight making these rings. They’re supposed to be little biscuits (one is heart and the other flower shaped) with puffs of cream and strawberries :strawberry: I thought they looked a little plain so I added a bow. Éclair is modelling them here. More photos
