Princess Day Planning

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

occitane.jpgWork has been rather tiring and stressful of late, however, today was a little slower so I spent my shift daydreaming and planning my next Princess Day.

A Princess Day :tiara: for those not familiar with the concept, is a day entirely devoted to pampering and pleasing oneself. It is a day where all responisibilities, all worries and cares are put aside and a Princess sets out to enjoy herself as best she can and treat herself to all those luxuries she may not be able to indulge in on a daily basis.

I think I’m due for another Princess Day in a week or two. I am planning to visit the hills of Perth, where my Mother lives. They are really quite quaint, full of little boutiques, antique stores and cafes. I just recieved a gift card for my favourite hair salon there, so I think I shall get my hair cut. If I feel like a little extra pampering I might organize a manicure too, my poor nails deserve it. Lunch will have to be at the little Pâtisserie in the heart of town, the one that makes the most delicious herb bread and Petits gâteaux :cake:

Then of course I must visit the english sweets store and buy a bag of strawberry humbugs (my favourite) and probably spend a good hour in the little boutiques, most likely coming home with some L’occitane cosmetics. I really love the little stories they have for their different ranges, such as “Eau des 4 Reines” which goes thus;

Many years ago, the Count of the Provencal town of Forcalquier had four daughters and each married a king. Thus, the sisters Marguerite, Eleonore, Sancie and Beatrix came to be the Four Queens of Forcalquier. The sisters had a passion for roses, and each had her favourite; L’Occitane’s new fragrance, Eau des 4 Reines, is a blend of the roses’ scents, creating a beautifully fresh, delicate, velvety fragrance with muted hints of fruit. :flower:

I am so looking forward to my next Princess Day.

Birdsong and a Beautiful Gown

Friday, March 30th, 2007

A sneak peek... There are honeyeaters outside my window and they are singing and chasing eachother across the latticework with it’s climbing jasmine. There can be no more beautiful sound than birds singing at sunrise. I wonder if Marie Antoinette ever listened to the dawn chorus, as she stood in the Petit Trianon, looking out the window at a new day.

Today was a marvalous day, although I had to work I arrived home to a very special parcel waiting for me. In it was my Marie Antoinette one piece, even more exquisite than I had imagined. I would try and put it in to words, the deep royal blue, the delicate print, the luxurious layers of soft cotton lace, but that does not seem to do it justice. It is truely the most beautiful dress I have ever seen, and wearing it I feel more like royalty than ever. I leave you instead with my gratitude to everyone who aided and encouraged me in purchasing this dress, promises of grand photoshoots to come, and this little sneak peek which will have to satisfy your curiousity for now ^_~ Adieu!

She wears her heart on her sleeve

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

She wears her heart on her sleeve Today was fairly quiet and relaxing. I spent the morning browsing online stores, and watching the new episodes of Sugar Sugar rune (I love this anime  ) As it was such a beautiful day outside I decided to take some pictures with my new bunny cutsew and heart bag. You can see the rest in the gallery

I also did some work on the website, there is now a new page “My Favourite Things” which you can access via the link in the menu bar that says “favourites.” It was fun to do and I hope to add more there soon. :tiara: My profile page is now under “the princess” instead of “her royal highness.” I hope you will enjoy the changes I have made ^_^

Outings with the Prince

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

Tami's winter sock The Prince had they day off, so we spent it together. Although, as he slept in until 12 o’clock it would be more true to say we spent the afternoon together! It feels like winter is finally here :winter: with slightly overcast days, the occaisional shower and lovely cool temperatures. I can’t wait until it gets just a little cooler and I can wear my capelet and Candy-chan coat!

Our first errand was grocery shopping, not that exciting but the Prince bought me a cinnamon flavoured pretzel and I got to watch the little kittens playing in the pet store :cat: there was an adorable little tortoiseshell! All white with little patches of black and tan on its ears and tail.

The next errand was to find some thick black cotton to resew some buttons on to the Prince’s coat. I also bought some more pink satin hangers so that when my new items arrive they can be suitably hung. I finally found a gold crown pendant today! :crown: The one Skwerlie and I had been searching for, I can complete my pearl choker now. The best find today though was this “MILK” sock for Tami-chan! Its so cute and will keep her safe and warm in my bag. The Prince bought both of them for me, I feel so spoiled this week ^^

Art, Dolls and BABY

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Chibi PrincessToday was very eventful! I spent this morning working on some chibi designs and completed this one. I am experimenting with new styles and colouring techniques so she’s not quite perfect, but hopefully cute none the less. I think I will try drawing a few with more complicated clothing and work on the face a bit.

Just after lunch, Cynthia and Jacinta came by with their dolls (Naoki, Little May and Annoya) We spent several hours talking about bjd and playing with them, Annoya is so tiny! The smallest doll I’ve seen. I think even though I won’t be getting Luna, I am regaining my interest in dolls and feel inspired to do more with them. I might even look in to getting a friend for Miss Charlotte :sparkle: we’ll see.

Our BABY order arrived today! I had to wait for Mirai-chan to get home so we could open it together. The Heart bag is so beautiful! I can not describe how lovely it is in person or how sweet it looks looped over my arm (I can fit much more in it than I expected!) My bunny hoodie is lovely and soft and warm, and the ears are so cute! :rabbit: I will try and take photos of both tomorrow, as it was too overcast today. BABY shipped my MA OP today apparantly, for some reason it is being sent seperately, but still, it shan’t be long now! We recieved a copy of the BABY catalogue too, there are some really cute designs coming out this season

A Day of Sewing

Saturday, March 24th, 2007

Beautiful in BlueMiss Charlotte should be quite pleased as the greater part of today was devoted to fussing over her and creating pretty doll clothes  Skwerlie came to visit and brought her overlocker and a huge box of fabrics which we had good fun rifling through and laughing over some of the outdated styles.

Much of the morning was spent procrastinating and looking at pretty pictures, as well as having yummy rolls and foccacias at a local cafe :onigiri: but eventually we got around to our sewing projects! The first thing I created was a pair of white rose lace stockings, sewn out of some old hose. The design was just small enough to look sweet on her though, and they shall match a few of her outfits. Skwerlie designed a pretty white skirt with pink polka dot frills and tiny bows and got to work on that, although she didn’t quite finish it, it still looks adorable! :hearttwo: My second project was a skirt and matching bow using some pretty printed fabric I’ve had for a while. You can see the finished result in the picture!

In all, it was a lovely day. Although sewing can be a frustrating activity, it is nice to have company while doing it, and I’m so pleased to have a finished outfit to show for it! Miss Charlotte had a great time too ^_~

Tea at Tranby

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Victorian PrincessThis morning I had devonshire tea with the Queen at Tranby House. The little tearooms on the river are very sweet, and form part of an old colonial household which you can visit. They have pretty little cottage gardens and climbing roses :flower: and serve the lightest fluffiest scones around! You have to go in the morning though, when the scones are freshly baked.

I talked to my Mother about travel, and possibly going back to France in a few years. It feels like its been so long since I went away, and I really do hope to be in japan next year for Hanami :plane: it would be nice to visit at the same time as Sofia and go shopping together.

This afternoon Mirai and I are going to help her friend who is a photography student, which means we get to stand around in a studio and have professional photos taken of us :camera: which is always fun. I think I will wear my pink Swan Lake Jsk. Hopefully I can get copies of the photos and post them here later!

An English Rose

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Tartan and Red RosesThis morning we discovered a beautiful scarlet rose blooming in our garden :flower: inspired by this I decided to forgo my signature colour today in favour of plaid and lace up black victorian boots. The rose was lovely, but it’s scent was very faint to be honest, which is common for red roses.

We sent BABY some money for clothes this morning! Mirai and Skwerlie are ordering some things with me. I’m finally getting the BABY heart bag and a bunny eared hoodie which I simply must wear to the easter picnic! :rabbit: It should all arrive next week, along with my Marie Antoinette One Piece, I can hardly contain my excitement! :sparkle:

I thoroughly cleaned my chambers today, they were getting a tad messy, and as my maid seems to have run off somewhere I had to do it myself ^_~ I have come to the conclusion that I really must redecorate. To start with there is no storage here. I need something to keep my shoes in, and a small wardrobe for Miss Charlotte as her clothes currently live in a box. Poor girl! At least she will get some attention this weekend as I shall probably be having a dolly sewing day with Skwerlie.

BABY’s Little Heartbreaker

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Luna Closeup Luna was sold at the Osaka3 Dolpa in japan and now she is starting to appear on yahoo!jp auctions. I must admit, at first I was mostly attracted to her outfit, and the promo images did not do her face justice.

However now that I am starting to see real life images, I am enchanted :sparkle: she has such a delicate childlike beauty, and an air of mystery with those slightly lowered lashes. Coquettish and vulnerable at the same time. There are some close ups in my gallery you really must see. If only she wasn’t going for over a thousand dollars already *sigh* Why must I always fall in love with the most priceless of things?

We’ve a few errands to run this morning, which is blessedly cool after yesterday’s heat, but I’ll try and post more later!

Meet Taro!

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

It was yucky yucky hot today. And humid as well, so I spent the day indoors rather unproductively playing the new games the Prince put on my pink DS lite. :nintendo: I played Pheonix Wright, Ace Attourney which is fun but gets a bit long winded after a while. I tried the DS game of Barbie and the 12 dancing princesses :shoe: because I liked the movie. The graphics were very pretty, although its a sidescroller so a good part of it is running up and down the walls of a castle.

The best game though, is a virtual Hamster game, the japanese title of which is Love Love Hamster! Hamsters are illegal pets in Australia, and so its a bit of a novelty to play this game. Not to mention the adorable illustrations and cute mini-games! Its so quirky and fun. This is Taro, my baby hamster (that appears to be the breed name) and he talks! He speaks english and chinese. Its quite strange but makes the game a bit more interactive. :heartsmall:

I love pet games, but they make me want a real pet. Hopefully someday I’ll have a castle that permits the keeping of furry animal companions.
