Princess Phone Makeover

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

Tami chan's Makeover I’m so excited! :sparkle: today we placed the BABY order for my Marie Antoinette One Piece! Now I must wait nervously for their reply and keep my fingers crossed that its still in stock. I am already planning the co-ordinate for it, cream lace wrist cuffs and over-knee socks. A pearl choker.. I have no idea what I shall do with my hair. I could find a wig or just tease it up.

This morning I went for a stroll to the shops and picked out some fresh fruit and vegetables. My favourite apple is in season again, its called “Royal Gala” isn’t that the perfect name for a Princess’s fruit? :apple: I want to have a Teddy-bears picnic soon, when the weather cools a little. Bring petite sandwhiches and fruit salad and make rose petal cordial. Oh! and teddy shaped biscuits! Parfait and Éclair and Marie will come along of course.

Look at the make-over Tami-chan has had! Doesn’t she look like a true princess phone now? I think she needs a few more straps, I might make some with pearls and jewels and ribbon. I want to decorate my Pink DS Lite next!

You may notice that princessportal is running nice and fast again! Thank you to my host for fixing everything :hearttwo:

Introducing Parfait

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

Parfait Someone very special arrived in the mail today! Her name is  Parfait  and she is a BABY Usakuma bag (and Éclair’s Onee-san.) I just adore her! I’ve been searching for one for ages, and its been about a month since I bought her but she’s finally home. I never realised how HUGE she’d be. Also she has magnets in her paws so they stick together :rabbit:

Today was dreadfully hot, our little taste of winter seems to have passed already. I spent most of the day running errands, paying rent, picking up parcels from the post office and the like. Mirai-chan got a new sewing machine today so we had to investigate all the fancy stiches (it does hearts, and flowers and snow flakes!) We also visited House & Home today and looking at all the pretty embroidered linnen makes me want to take up my needlework again, perhaps I will start a new project soon.

I updated to Wordpress 2.1.2 today, so the site was down for a little bit and I’m still ironing out the compatibility issues. Fortunately my theme seems to be working fine :sparkle:

Disney’s New Princesses

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

RapunzelIt seems Disney are hard at work on not one but three new Fairy Tale films featuring Princesses! :tiara: Its nice to see them returning to classic stories, and I dearly hope they run in the same vein as their older movies that I grew up with rather than submitting to the pop-culture parody that Shrek has made the standard of animated films.

Rapunzel (subtitled: “Unbraided”) is the one I am most looking forward to. Its a rework of the classic tale, with a few typical disney themes inserted, and curiously, it mixes traditional and CG animation to create its own unqiue style which is intended to reflect rococo oil paintings. Indeed one of the concept illustrations is very heavily inspired by Jean-Honore Fragonard’s “The Swing.” It was originally scheduled for release in 2007 but Disney have since decided to “retool” it and its now dated for 2009. I don’t mind the wait though, I’m very excited about this film

The Frog Princess Looks to be very interesting. Set in the 1920’s New Orleans it will feature the first African American Disney Princess, named “Maddy” who starts off as a chambermaid working for a spoiled southern belle. I’m curious to see how they adapt the story to the era. I should also mention that “The Frog Princess” is a completely different fairy tale to “The Frog Prince” and exists in many variations across Europe :frog:

Enchanted This film on the other hand, looks dreadful. Its Live action and Cell animated. And the storyline seems to be about a Princess getting kicked out of a fairy tale world and in to present day New york where she falls in love with a divorced lawyer. The promotion poster which features a woman coming out of a man-hole looking something like a cross between a pageant queen and a bad 80’s bride is enough to put me off. I’m staying clear of this one :grr:

Marie Antoinette Dress

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

Marie Antoinette OP in Royal BlueBABY has finally released their much anticipated Marie Antoinette series :hearttwo: I just adore the one-piece dress. The print is in gorgeous rococo style with swooping garlands and details of cakes and hats and shoes, and such a decadant excess of lace! Truely a dress fit for a Princess. I would even forgo my favourite colour to get this piece in Royal Blue as it is the colour of France and feels more suited to the series. Alas, it shall probably be sold out by the time I can raise the funds, but I can dream, can I not? :sparkle:

The image to the left is linked to the item on BABY’s site for your viewing pleasure, I could look at it all day..
