Gingerbread Cookies

Gingerbread Heart Today I enjoyed a brief respite in amidst a hectic week. While I probably should have been running errands and ticking a few more things off my “to do” list, I instead decided to treat myself to a day at home with Miss Charlotte :hearttwo:

In the morning we baked delicious gingerbread bicuits! They are spicy and soft and shaped like hearts, flowers and stars. Gingerbread is my favourite kind of biscuit and Miss Charlotte quite likes them too, I had three with my hot chocolate in the afternoon as I read “Night Dance” which is a retelling of “The Twelve Dancing Princesses” with a dash of Arthurian Legend thrown in :book: It was an enjoyable enough read, but far from excellent. I shall, however, start “Queen of Fashion, What Marie Antoinette wore to the Revolution” tomorrow as I finally got a copy through the library system.

This afternoon my cute little cake hair tie arrived! I love it :cake: I also borrowed a couple of movies and this evening watched “The Thief Lord” which was a charming little story about a group of orphans in Venice and a Carousel that could make Adults into children and Children in to adults. The concept intrigued me, although I am personally of the opinion that, while we must someday grow old, growing up is entirely optional.
