A Day at the Circus

Friday, September 7th, 2007

teacakes Today was the day I have been excited about for weeks! Claire and my visit to the Cirque du Soleil. :rainy: The sky was so cloudless in the morning I thought it would be beautiful weather but by mid morning it was pouring down with rain. Poor Claire got caught in this a little as she arrived at my place for tea before the show. She was wearing a cute little strawberry jsk and surprised me with a lovely gift I will share with you later! I had already gotten in to my dress for the show, as I take a dreadfully long time to get ready, and decided to wear my hair up because it was so windy outside.

We had a light early-afternoon tea of cucumber and dill sandwiches, chicken avocado sandwichs, butter cookies, soft biscotti and raspberry tarts, some of which we brought with us to eat at the show.

After tea we spent an hour or so getting ready, we dressed in full Hime-lolita. Claire wore the pink Queen’s Coronation One Piece from BABY and I wore my pink Yuki no namida hime One Piece with my new angelic pretty crown shoes! We did our hair and makeup, popped up our waterproof parasols and headed off to the circus! :star:

Friends and a Field of Flowers

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

In the Field of Flowers This morning I got up early to prepare for tea. My friend Claire was coming over and this was the first time we would meet her so I wanted it to be special! I laid out the table with cloth and lace, put a bunch of beautiful ranunculi I had bought earlier this week in the middle and arranged the various tea items. I was half way through kneading the scone dough when Claire arrived, looking lovely in her white BABY one piece. :coffee: We had tea (lady grey) and scones with jam and clotted cream, lemon tartlets and mud chocolate rose shaped cakes made by Mirai. The food was delicious and the company delightful.

After tea we decided to go take photos. A field near our house has recently come in to bloom and is full of pink and white everlastings! Their thousands of petals feel like paper and brushing through the tall stems transported us to the countryside. :camera: Mirai took some great photos of us which will appear in the gallery shortly. For now here is a little teaser.

Thank you very much to Claire for joining us today, I had a lot of fun and am looking forward to seeing you again soon! :heartsmall:
