Sisters in White This morning started off with the most beautiful sunny weather we’ve had in weeks! It didn’t last all day unfortunately, but it was a beautiful little break from the constant rain. I got up early and did a few chores and then Miss Charlotte and I got ready to see our guests. My friend Yi is visiting from Syndey and she brought her beautiful SD girl ‘Bianka’ with her, this is the first time I’ve met Bianka and I have to say she’s one of the most beautiful dolls I’ve ever seen! She has an adorable little face with pretty eyes and her gown is by BABY the stars shine bright! I also loved her beautiful honey blonde wig.

We spent most of the morning chatting and catching up, and then decided to set up a little photoshoot with our dolls. I dressed Miss Charlotte all in white and put on her curly gold wig so that they would look like sisters. Then we hunted down some fabric, red velvet ‘curtains’ and a white brocade floor and set it up with my hand fan and some ostrich plumes. The girls looked so regal in white with touches of gold and the fan seemed to fit in well. We took many many photos, my favourites are up in the gallery.

For lunch we walked down to the bakery and bought some hot pastries and it just started to rain as we arrived home. We took a few more photos and redressed Miss Charlotte in her rain coat and wellingtons and I got to cuddle Bianka for a while, which had the rather dangerous effect of making me want an SD sized doll even more!

Thank you to Yi and Bianka for coming to visit, we had a lovely time!

Trying on for size Yesterday I went to have my first pair of ballet shoes fitted! I was so excited, as Sanyu already had hers and they looked so soft and comfortable to dance in. Dancing in just tights can be a little hard on your feet, and slippery too!

When I arrived at the dance store it was quite busy so I had to wait a little while to be served. This was fine with me because I got to talk to some of the more experienced dancers there and watch one girl getting fitted for her Pointe shoes which are so beautiful! I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to dance en pointe but it looks so elegant I was happy to sit and watch her try out her satiny toe shoes.

When it was my turn, I almost felt like I was in a scene from the Harry Potter books! The lady was pulling out boxes from different shelves and could guess my size just by looking at my feet. She made me try on three different pairs, the first two didn’t feel quite right but the third pair fitted perfectly, as if they were made for me. I purchased them and a pair of dance tights and took them all home with me.

My first pair of ballet shoes

My second ballet lesson was last night, we learnt a few new things including glissades, and have lots to practise at home now! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to wear my new shoes because I had to sew the elastics down myself and didn’t have time before class but I spent a little while with a needle and thread this morning listening to some Tchaikovsky and now they feel even more like my own.
