On Sunday, Sab, Mirai and I went to my favourite pâtisserie, Le Papillon! I haven’t been there in ages, because its a little out of the way but I love their cakes and pastries as my Mother always used to buy my birthday cakes from there (my favourite being a chocolate honeycomb gâteau!) and sometimes she would bring me the little tarts with their icing sugar butterflies as a special treat.
It was just as I remembered it, a little bit old but warmly decorated in blue and apricot provincial style. Sab snapped some quick photos of the place, to record our visit and we all spent ages looking at the cakes and tarts and sweet pastries and trying to decide what to order. In the end Mirai and Sab had chocolate and lime tarts and I ordered a croissant stuffed with apple and custard. We also had hot chocolate and chai and all tried a bite or two of each other’s desserts!
After our little afternoon tea we went to visit my Mother’s gallery and look at the new work she has in. There were some quirky sculptures and huge ceramic pieces, we also checked out the cafe next door and they had lots of delicious looking cakes too, so I think we’ll have to go back there some time! The rest of the afternoon we spent antiquing and giving Sab a Princess Makeover, you’ll hear all about that soon!
All of these gorgeous photos were taken by Sab of sabatomic.com, check out her blog!
Bon Appétit!
