Tea and a good book

Tea and a Good Book When the sunlight is just starting to get a little warmer, although the breeze is still cool and the flowers are at blooming in their most abundant (not the fresh, new spring buds but the heavy masses of fragrant blossoms everywhere you look, even the weeds are flowering) it feels like my birthday :spring: I think there is just certain weather that makes it feel like a holiday, when I wake up in the morning and it is already hot and dry it feels like christmas. I don’t think I’ve had such a beautiful morning walk in a long time.

Along the way I picked up a parcel from the post office (our masks for the ball this weekend!) and stopped by the library to borrow some new books. I had absoloutely no plans for the afternoon beyond curling up with one of said books and a cup of tea. :coffee: The tea is Lady Grey, a sweet citrus-y blend with lemon and orange peel, bergamot and tiny dried cornflowers, loose leaf tea is so pretty and fragrant! Lady Grey has become a bit of a favourite at the palace of late and we have been serving it at our tea parties.

The book is a biography of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire. :book: The Duchess was such a fascinating woman, she had an amazing sense of style and taste in the arts and was a personal friend of Marie Antoinette! I am looking forward to learning more about her. I am also reading Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell which I have been meaning to for years and am I’m glad I finally found it.

When you said its beginning to feel like Christmas (when you were describing the warmth) I almost fell out of my chair! Here in North America when it begins to feel like christmas, we know its miserably cold and we won’t want to go outside for a long time! XD You are so fortunate.

I’m glad you had such a nice afternoon!
    Sadly tomorrow mines will be sent on a field-trip and trying to explain to my tutors why I didn’t complete my math homework. ^^;

Also, when you come online again, I do need to talk to you about the canopy.

I’ve been meaning to read Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell for ages! (but i keep forgetting to actually get the book, apparently, hehe) >

I have to admit my ignorance about the world’s weather patterns, too. It seems so weird to imagine my birth month as flowery and coming into bloom, but I suppose it does in other places, which is insanely neat. Good-bye death-bed symbolism of the autumn months–I know spring is still alive somewhere in the world!

That mug is so cute! Where did you get it?

Also, I too, find it rather strange for it to be hot at Christmas - here it’s usually pouring rain! In fact, a couple of years ago it even flooded!

Haley: I would love to have a white christmas some day! It is always so hot here at that time of year.

Abbie-Chan: I hope your field trip was enjoyable, even sans homework!

skwerlie: Oh! I’m really enjoying it so far, you should definitely find a copy.

Katarina: I find it hard to imagine having my birthday in autumn! I think I would miss the flowers.

Aoi-chan: The mug is from Sanrio ^^ flooding on christmas, oh my! I hope your house wasn’t affected.

Hello again, Princess! It has been a dreadfully long time since I’ve visited! My computer recently decided to go dead on me and since it off for repairs right now, it’s difficult to get online (the library being my only real option.) However, the problem should soon be rectified. ^^
I’m glad to hear you are doing well. The weather sounds lovely. It’s slowly moving towards Autumn now, but I don’t mind. We’ve already had a few glorious, wet, gray, golden leaved days, and I am drinking them in. I cannot wait to see photos of your birthday party, I’m sure it will be gorgeous.
Also, I have read Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire myself, and quite enjoyed it. And ironically I am currently reading Privilege and Scandal, a biography of her sister, Harriet!

this reminds me that i have to start reading more often, rather than watching too much bad tv.
